After relegation last season it was important to have a good year in the new division. Well done to all the lads especially those who turned up to every match and training session and thanks to Finbarr for all the training sessions on wet wintry nights in Knocknacurra. Enjoy the summer break and see you all next season. Who'll be player of the year? Top scorer?

SATURDAY November 29th THE BIG ONE Passage 5 0 Innishvilla We went into this game as contenders for the league but unfortunately it looks like Passage are just too good and are beating all the teams in the division.
Sunday November 16th Innishvilla 4 - 0 Avondale United A, Crossbarry, What a game. Straight from the start the 12's ran at Avondale and some great sweeping play brough chance after chance. It was only a matter of time before one of the two starting forwards - Gavin Hunt and Offside Healy - got a chance. It fell to Gavin and he brought us in 1 up at halftime. Ciaran to be fair is leraning how to be a forward and isn't getting caugh as often as he used; we might have to start calling him Just Barely Offside Healy. The second half saw John Madden, Eoin O'Reilly and Alan Cremin join the fray and in what seemed to be a blur it went so fast - Eoin had hit a hat trick - and missed another three - to ease us home. Hello to Luke Walsh who is on the mend; get better Shaun Crowley. And what a save - again - from Gary who saved a penalty. Great performances all around - everyone was passing the ball - men of the match Eoin for the hattrick, Conor for brilliant positioning and reading of the game, Gary in goal, Padraig for his speed closing down the attackers, Ciaran for staying onside so much; Joe Bernard and Donal McCarthy for much improved passing of the ball rather than booting it anywhere. Team: G Jones, T O'Brien, S O'Shea, P Forde, C Powell, D McCarthy, J Bernard, D O'Sullivan, A O'Flynn, C Healy, G Hunt. Subs: A Cremin, J Madden & E O'Reilly. Absent: D Looney, C Desmond Sunday November 2nd Innishvilla 0 - 0 Riverstown A. Not a bad game just no scoring chances. Monday October 27th: Innishvilla 1 - 4 Crosshaven A disappointing display saw Villa brought back to earth. The good points were that Eoin O'Reilly scored for the third league game in a row and Darragh Looney always tried to play football' looking for the right pass. Hard luck lads we need to work on passing the ball. October 18th Backlog: Leeds A 0 -2 Villa Looney Lashes Leeds with Looping Longshot In a hard fought game at Leeds on Saturday the under 12 remained unbeaten when a logshot from Darragh Looney rattled the back of the net with the goalie stuck to the spot. A second goal was added by Eoin O'Reilly from a breakaway move that swept the ball the length of the field. At half time we were struggling to get on top of Leeds when Finbarr Desmond brought on a complete left side - Aaron Lyons and Shane O'Leary soon had the Leeds defence reeling from some slick passing football. Conor Powell had an great game and was only denied the man of the match award when Gary Jones pulled off a point blank save when the game was finely balanced. Team: J Madden, C Powell, D McCarthy, C Desmond, D O'Sullivan. J Bernard, E O'Reilly, G Jones, C Healy, A Lyons, S O'Leary, B Casey, D Looney First League Game: Sunday October 5th Ballincollig A 1 - 5 Innishvilla. In the first game in a new division Villa swept all before tham in a one-sided encounter beside the Lee. Eoin O'Reilly was his usual self on the prowl for any loose ball in the 'Collig defence and snapped up two goals to start his season where he left off last. Gavin Hunt was man of the match after giving a great display of passing the ball. A rusty defence was steadied by Padraig Forde who's speed snuffed out many attacks after the referee seemed to stop playing the offside rule. With the game won Villa brought on the greyhounds - Ciaran Healy and Shaun Crowley. The two lads ran their socks off and Ciaran brought a groan from players and spectators alike when he was unlucky to be judged offside after "scoring" a beauty. Team: J Madden, P Forde, G Hunt, D McCarthy, T O'Brien, S O'Shea, C Desmond, D O'Sullivan, J Bernard, A Flynn, S Crowley, A Cremin, E O'Reilly, G Jones, C Healy (Absent: L Walsh & C Powell)
