ECHO Coverage:

James O'Sullivan will be covering the Cork Schoolboy League for the Evening Echo this year.

There will be some new features, like a team of the week and an occasional quotes section. Coverage starts in the first week of September, with the first pages going to print on the 6th of that month.
Each coach should provide reports on their team. Every week the Echo we will have a round up of CSL results and activities from the various clubs, something similar to what was involved last year. However, this year you may feel free to include more informal details, like who played well and quotes etc. The Echo will be gathering information for the club notes through e-mail. All e-mails with information for the club notes could be forwarded to the name below by the Saturday before the Tuesday in question as it takes about two days to put the pages together. DO NOT SEND ANYMORE INFORMATION TO echoschoolboys@eircom.net, from now on EVERYTHING is to be sent directly to james_osullivan@eircom.net
The Echo will also be implementing a rotation system that will see every club get an equal amount of coverage (only clubs that participate in the coverage will be counted), They will be selecting a team of the week across the board every week, 5 games will be given full coverage and match reports every week, and will be doing a preview of the weekend's action every week  to appear in the Echo on Fridays, and a club profile of each club throughout the year. The club profile will be about 900 words about the club, including facts and figures. Each club will be have a profile done, starting alphabetically with Avondale. Once again, only participating clubs will be considered.

August 14th: Players registration at Ballyphehane Community Centre on Tuesday Wednesday Thursday 16th, 17th and 18th August.at 7-30pm

At last Wednesday's meeting of the SFAI Executive it was decided that this year a new national cup for the Under 11 age group would be introduced. The Competition will be known as the MENTON/SEERY Cup and the Cup is being kindly donated by Home Farm. Applications forms will be issued to each League Secretary over the next few days - make sure you contact your League Secretary to enter teams in this new competition -the closing date for receipt of applications being set as 31st August 2005. The Menton/Seery Cup will be played alongside the other National Cup Competitions with the same regional areas hosting the same counties and the draw for the last 32 taking place in December 2005.

August 12th: St. Mary’s have pulled out their U.13 team and Mallow have pulled out their U.12 team. This of course will cause the cancellation of all their fixtures.

Regarding the fixtures that have been published, CSL have had some requests for games off etc….all have been met with a simple no.

Shortage of referees is also a concern.

All above are on the agenda for August 23rd League meeting.

Friday August 12th at 7:30 pm. Barbeque in Innishannon House Hotel to celebrate a great year in underage soccer, especially the league win for the under 11's and a cup run for the under 12's.Damien Richardson helping with the awards

Next delegate meeting of the Cork Schoolboys League will be on Tuesday August 23rd at Ballyphenane Community Centre at 8 pm.
