South-east draws take place
Tuesday, February 21, 2006
The south-east GAA draws for 2006 have been made with the junior A championship
containing just two first choice teams.
Shamrocks, who were champions in 2005, exited after losing to All-Ireland
winners Fr. O’Neill’s in the county semi-final while Kinsale were divisional
runners-up in 2005.
Both clubs could meet again in the first round as Kinsale should be able to
overcome the challenge of Ballygarvan in their preliminary round game.
Another attractive game will be the clash of Courcey Rovers and Ballinhassig
while Ballymartle and Tracton are also capable of a good game.
Carrigaline and Valley Rovers will play in the first round of the south east
intermediate championship.
There will be no back door at under-21 level in either hurling or football. The
football A championship will start with the first round games on March 12th with
semi-finals on March 19th and the final on April 2nd.
